Abi Youth Fiddle Fest

The Abi Youth Fiddle Fest will provide student string players the opportunity to learn from the “New American School of String Playing.”  Using the rich diversity of traditional American music as a foundation, skills such as improvisation, artistry, creating a stage persona, memorization, ensemble playing, American music history and choreography will be explored through large and small group rehearsals.  Directed by Darcy Radcliffe, this camp culminates with a high energy performance in downtown Abilene! 

Abi Youth Fiddle Fest Registration Requirements

  • Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass

  • 1 year of playing experience (Grades 6-12 and beyond)

Register Early By May 15 – $125

Registration after May 15 – 30 $150

Registration after May 30 – $175

Registration closes June 2nd

Register more than one sibling for a 10% discount for each additional sibling.

  • 12 hours of instruction provided by skilled string educators culminating in a public performance during the Children’s Art and Literacy Festival (CALF)

Mission Strings Summer Camp

Mission Strings Summer Camp 2023

This camp is designed for young string players with at least 1 year of experience.  This 4-day camp will include music literacy, composition, music history, small groups, and full string orchestra.  The camp will conclude with a performance showcasing all the skills learned throughout the week.  Admission is free and open to the public. This camp is open to students 3rd-5th grade with at least 1-year experience on a string instrument (violin, violia, cello, bass)
