Anyone in 3rd grade and up who would like to learn how to play an orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass).

Parents and students are invited to come learn about our program and choose an instrument! Rental options will be available as well. Read more on our Join page.
Classes will be held on Sundays, from 2:30PM – 3:15 PM at the ACU Williams Performing Arts Center.

The Abilene Youth Strings (AYS) is a class for string players ready for a new challenge, but not quite ready for the demands of the advanced AYO repertoire. This high energy class will help students improve string technique, music literacy, and more advanced sightreading skills. It is open for students from 5th grade- 9th grade. AYS is open for all strings: violin, viola, cello, and bass.
These classes will meet Sunday afternoons, 2:30pm-4:30pm, at the ACU Williams Performing Arts Center.
